Blog3 – National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall – Pin Jung Chen

National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is a famous monument also located at the west part of Taipei. It was built in 1980 to memorize one of the presidents of Taiwan who passed away not long ago at that time. Moreover, one of the important protests that built the democracy that we have today was held in the plaza around the memorial hall. Hence, this is a particularly historical place for Taiwanese.

It is rare to have this size of plaza in Taipei, one of the top 10 crowded cities in the world. Whenever I visit the memorial hall, I feel like I could go back to the ancient time and see how hard they fight for the democracy, which reminds me to cherish the freedom that was hard to come by.
